Barn Owls have the most beautiful plumage of pure white with honey gold markings. The original oil painting was inspired by seeing an Owl in the wooded slopes of the Galtee Mountains in County Tipperary, Ireland. Ferns and mosses grow on the trees in the damp of the woodland and the day was just fading into dusk when I saw this wonderful bird looking down at me.
