ARTIST'S STATEMENT
' Nature is my main inspiration. The landscapes I choose to paint can be grand vistas under tempestuous skies or gentle quiet corners of meadows and streams. I have a deep love of wildlife, especially birds which I never tire of watching or painting, whether it be spectacular birds of prey or the humble sparrow or wren'.
' I paint in oils, mainly on linen and panel, after first making preliminary sketches in graphite and watercolour, completing the finished oil painting in my studio over several weeks or months. I also take photographs for reference, particularly for bird portraits to ensure true to life detail. Through my work I try to convey in my own unique style the joy and wonder I feel in response to our precious natural world.'
