Cork, this year it includes the evening of Friday 16th 6pm-9pm, as well as Saturday and Sunday the 17th & 18th of November from 10 am - 6pm. This will be my third year of exhibiting at Ballymaloe and I will have lots of new gift ideas and Christmas cards along with my limited edition prints and greetings cards of birds and country scenes. These are the Christmas designs, this year I will have some great value packs and gift boxes of the cards as well as selling them singly.

For the first time I will be selling my artist's book entitled 'Scattered with Light, Painting the beauty of nature'. The book is A4 sized and has 102 pages with high quality images of my paintings with detailed notes and practical advice and techniques including some step by step photographs to show how the paintings were created. This book would be the perfect Christmas gift for anyone with an interest in Art, nature, the Irish landscape or horses and if they also paint a little themselves it will be an valuable treasure trove of advice and encouragement. The book can be purchased on my website's online shopping page for 35 euro (inc.P&P) but why not save 10 euro and buy it at the show for just 25 euro and if you wish I will also sign the book for you.
Cue the fanfare- The book is here!
I am very pleased to say that the book about my work that I have been working on for quite some time is published and now available to purchase on my online shopping page or by contacting me.It's A4 size with easy to read text and packed full of full colour images of my paintings, 102 pages altogether. Although it's not a beginners manual on painting it has detailed notes and some step by step photographs to show how the work was created. The Iverk Show Saturday 25th August, Piltown co. Kilkenny
This will be the last show I'll be attending for this Summer. The Iverk show is one of my favourite shows and incidentally also the oldest show in Ireland and is in a great location being so close to Counties Kilkenny, Waterford,Wexford and Tipperary. So it will be the last chance to buy my prints at the special offer Summer show prices. Last year the best selling print was "Goldfinches on thistle' the online price for this is 75 euro (including 15 euro for registered post and packing) Buy it at the Iverk show on Saturday for just 49 euro!
New environmentally friendly cards and packaging
Now all my cards & envelopes are made from the highest quality recycled card and paper and are protected by a cellophane bag. Cellophane is made from plant material and therefore biodegradable. I protect my prints on my stand at shows by using a sheet of stiff card behind the print and I wrap the whole thing in thick cellophane. I used to sometimes use polypropylene which is completely recyclable but as one can't guarantee this will actually happen I think it's greener to cut out the plastic and go for good old Cellophane!
All my limited edition prints are high quality reproductions of my original oil paintings.I spend a lot of time in the field sketching and photographing birds in order to get the detail right and the paintings can take weeks or even months to complete back in my studio. Once completed I choose the best to be made into a print and take it to the Murray imaging studios as it is a Hahnemuhle certified fine art studio and Tony Murray who is an award winning photographer creates the master file using the in house lighting to ensure he captures every detail & nuance of the original work.Once an artists proof is approved by me by comparison with the original painting it is ready for the print edition to start. I use 310g/m2 German etching paper made by the renowned paper company Hahnamuhle (est 1584) which is of archival museum quality and the inks are special archival pigment inks all of which goes to the ensure enduring quality of my prints. Each edition is usually strictly limited to 100 thus making them highly collectable.
I shall be at the Tullow show this Sunday 19th with my stall selling Limited edition prints and greetings cards which will be located in the Coppenagh village marquee. As usual I will have some great special offers. This is the first year I have attended this show but it sounds like it's a really good day out and very well run. I will be demonstrating painting birds in watercolours on the day.
Hope to see you there!
Just three of the 18 different limited edition prints I will have at the Tullow Show. Summer Haze (fox) was the best selling print at the Tinahely Show and the Original painting of the Peregrine Falcon is to be featured as a finalist in the next issue (October/November) of the International Artist magazine & there is nothing more beautiful than a horse totally relaxed in a Summer meadow.
My next event is the Tinahely Show in beautiful County Wicklow on Monday the 6th of August (bank holiday) where I will have a stand in the arts and craft village tent. This is my first time at this show but it looks a really good day and as exhibiting in the art and craft village is by special selection I am thrill to be included. I have painted near Tinahely many times and my favourite place is Tomnafinnoge Woods which lies betwixt Tinahely and Shillelagh. I have a limited edition print of a painting I did in Tomnafinnoge wood in springtime when the bluebells were out ( plus a greetings card) and I painted a lodge cottage on the adjacent estate (also a greetings card). Not that far away I painted the river Avonmore in theVale of Clara in high summer (available as a card) then lastly I painted high in the mountains by the babbling Kings river which is a very beautiful place but in a different way and I have this as a limited edition print. I will have special show offers on the day on Prints and Cards and some original paintings!
what a lovely day we had for the Waterford country fair at Curraghmore House on Sunday the 9th and thank you to the organisers for all their hard work to make it such a great event! Thank you also to all my customers and all the lovely comments about my paintings. Best selling print was 'Summer Haze' featuring a fox and the favourite greetings cards were definitely the Irish songbirds collection as people really seemed to know and love their garden birds. It was good to meet everybody.
Clonmel Show Sunday 1st July
This is my third year at what is my most local event and I will have a bigger display this year including original oil paintings, new limited edition prints and some lovely new card designs and some extra special show prices!. I will bring along my watercolours and demonstrate some wildlife painting during the day. There's always lots to see at Clonmel, but it's not spread over a vast site like some larger shows making it easy to enjoy without being exhausting on the legs! Hope to see you there
Four new card designs
I especially liked how the two rather grumpy looking baby wrens came out. All my cards are printed on recycled card of the highest quality usually with a silk finish except for the grumpy baby Wrens which is on a really nice textured card because it was from a watercolour painting.
