The Iverk Show Saturday 25th August, Piltown co. Kilkenny This will be the last show I'll be attending for this Summer. The Iverk show is one of my favourite shows and incidentally also the oldest show in Ireland and is in a great location being so close to Counties Kilkenny, Waterford,Wexford and Tipperary. So it will be the last chance to buy my prints at the special offer Summer show prices. Last year the best selling print was "Goldfinches on thistle' the online price for this is 75 euro (including 15 euro for registered post and packing) Buy it at the Iverk show on Saturday for just 49 euro! New environmentally friendly cards and packaging Now all my cards & envelopes are made from the highest quality recycled card and paper and are protected by a cellophane bag. Cellophane is made from plant material and therefore biodegradable. I protect my prints on my stand at shows by using a sheet of stiff card behind the print and I wrap the whole thing in thick cellophane. I used to sometimes use polypropylene which is completely recyclable but as one can't guarantee this will actually happen I think it's greener to cut out the plastic and go for good old Cellophane! All my limited edition prints are high quality reproductions of my original oil paintings.I spend a lot of time in the field sketching and photographing birds in order to get the detail right and the paintings can take weeks or even months to complete back in my studio. Once completed I choose the best to be made into a print and take it to the Murray imaging studios as it is a Hahnemuhle certified fine art studio and Tony Murray who is an award winning photographer creates the master file using the in house lighting to ensure he captures every detail & nuance of the original work.Once an artists proof is approved by me by comparison with the original painting it is ready for the print edition to start. I use 310g/m2 German etching paper made by the renowned paper company Hahnamuhle (est 1584) which is of archival museum quality and the inks are special archival pigment inks all of which goes to the ensure enduring quality of my prints. Each edition is usually strictly limited to 100 thus making them highly collectable.
