Thy Kingdom Come, Kerry Painted.Group Art Exhibition at Origin Gallery, Dublin, 14th March 2019

Group Exhibition at Origin Gallery Dublin
I am delighted to be exhibiting in this group exhibition along with nine other leading landscape artists at the Origin gallery, the exhibition is to be opened tonight (Thurs. March 14th) by Dr. Noelle Campbell Sharp, founder of the Cill Rialaig Artist's retreat in County Kerry. This wonderful retreat enables artists from all over the world to stay almost cost free in the artist's village of cottages right by the sea in Kerry. I have had two residencies each a truly inspirational experience! Some of the paintings that arose from my residencies are in this exhibition.
There is a wine reception 6 - 8pm tonight at the Origin, 37 Fitzwilliam st Upper, Dublin 2 to start the exhibition if anyone is interested to come along to preview this brilliant collection of work by very different artists all with their own interpretations of the wild Kerry land and seascape. I shall be there and would be pleased to see you.

'Each artists responds in their own unique way to the landscape and this special vision is what enables them to create their art. My style of painting is true to nature and the inspiration is from deep in my heart and is in response to my wonder at the beauty of the natural world. Kerry is a very distinctive and different landscape to paint and each time I have been there to paint it has taken a few days just to absorb the colour and beauty before I can actually start painting, then the inspiration just flows! it is a magical place'.

Prints of paintings by Sarah Corner

1/26/2019

I discovered a few days ago someone selling what they said was a Sarah Corner painting, but it was actually a print of a painting I was commissioned to paint some years ago by the Lake hotel in Killarney, Kerry. My original oil painting was 26"x48" and can be seen at the hotel. I have never published a print of this painting myself but the Hotel with my permission made some prints of the painting to give away free to  guests at the hotel as a memento of their stay. I had no input whatsoever in the production of the prints and they are most definitely not the same high quality as my own museum standard limited edition Giclee prints, but they were only intended as a free gift and I have heard that they may not be 100% light fast ( meaning their colour may fade in strong sunlight). This gives me an opportunity to stress again the importance of buying good quality prints such as my own ones are,the inks and paper I use are of the highest quality available and are also 100% printed in Ireland. All my prints come with a certificate of authenticity signed by the printer and myself and the prints are signed and numbered by me to give you the security of knowing you are buying the genuine high quality article and will allow the prints to be resold in the future if you should wish. If a print has not been signed and numbered by me, then it is not one of my prints!

A really big Thank you to everyone who came to the Mountmellick craft fair, despite the torrential down pour or two!. Weather aside it was a great little fair with a fantastic team of organisers and a really friendly atmosphere and I met some nice people and had good sales, so smiles all round. My book 'Painting the beauty of nature' sold very well and many visitors had a strong interest in both painting and nature (birds being most popular for print and card sales) and it was lovely to meet everyone. Lastly  a very happy Christmas to all! - Sarah

Christmas orders!
Please note that the deadline for Print and book online orders for Christmas delivery is this Wednesday the 12th December but after that date for orders within Ireland please contact me before ordering for the possibility of a last minute delivery depending on what I have in stock.

Firstly I like to say a big thank you to all my customers at the Ballymaloe Christmas Craft fair and say how nice it was to meet them all and I really appreciate the interest in my work, in my book, prints & cards and all their kind compliments.
Next is an art and craft fair that is new for me at the 'Mountmellick Christmas Art,Craft & Food fair in County laois on Sunday the 2nd of December in  O'Connell Square mountmellick from 1-6pm. It looks to be a fabulous and unusual event with marquees for the many stalls around the square's Christmas tree and entertainment throughout the afternoon.
Once again I will have all my limited edition prints on display at special show prices and a large selection of my artists greetings cards, some for Christmas and some for any occasion. My pack of Irish song bird cards make a lovely stocking filler as does the pack of 'Grumpy baby Wrens' cards.
Below is the cards in my Irish song bird pack of six cards for just E 11.50
And this is the 'Grumpy Baby Wrens' pack of six (the same) for just E 9.95

A wren nested in my little barn and on the day her babies fledged I watched her feeding them in the hedgerow and sketched them while they sat waiting for her. I also did an oil painting of her feeding one and I have an A5 card of that!

I will have my artist's book 'Scattered with light, painting the beauty of nature' for sale which would make a lovely present for anyone interested in Art, Nature, Horses and the Irish landscape. The detailed notes and step by step photographs of how the paintings were created make it absolutely ideal for anyone with an interest in painting in oils.

Cork, this year it includes the evening of Friday 16th 6pm-9pm, as well as Saturday and Sunday the 17th & 18th of November from 10 am - 6pm. This will be my third year of exhibiting at Ballymaloe and I will have lots of new gift ideas and Christmas cards along with my limited edition prints and greetings cards of birds and country scenes. These are the Christmas designs, this year I will have some great value packs and gift boxes of the cards as well as selling them singly.

The book is A4 sized and has 102 pages with high quality images of my paintings with detailed notes and practical advice and techniques including some step by step photographs to show how the paintings were created. This book would be the perfect Christmas gift for anyone with an interest in Art, nature, the Irish landscape or horses and if they also paint a little themselves it will be an valuable treasure trove of advice and encouragement. The book can be purchased on my website's online shopping page for 35 euro (inc.P&P) but why not save 10 euro and buy it at the show for just 25 euro and if you wish I will also sign the book for you.

The Iverk Show Saturday 25th August, Piltown co. Kilkenny
This will be the last show I'll be attending for this Summer. The Iverk show is one of my favourite shows and incidentally also the oldest show in Ireland and is in a great location being so close to Counties Kilkenny, Waterford,Wexford and Tipperary. So it will be the last chance to buy my prints at the special offer Summer show prices. Last year the best selling print was "Goldfinches on thistle' the online price for this is 75 euro (including 15 euro for registered post and packing) Buy it at the Iverk show on Saturday for just 49 euro!
New environmentally friendly cards and packaging
Now all my cards & envelopes are made from the highest quality recycled card and paper and are protected by a cellophane bag. Cellophane is made from plant material and therefore biodegradable. I protect my prints on my stand at shows by using a sheet of stiff card behind the print and I wrap the whole thing in thick cellophane. I used to sometimes use polypropylene which is completely recyclable but as one can't guarantee this will actually happen I think it's greener to cut out the plastic and go for good old Cellophane!
All my limited edition prints are high quality reproductions of my original oil paintings.I spend a lot of time in the field sketching and photographing birds in order to get the detail right and the paintings can take weeks or even months to complete back in my studio. Once completed I choose the best to be made into a print and take it to the Murray imaging studios as it is a Hahnemuhle certified fine art studio and Tony Murray who is an award winning photographer creates the master file using the in house lighting to ensure he captures every detail & nuance of the original work.Once an artists proof is approved by me by comparison with the original painting it is ready for the print edition to start. I use 310g/m2 German etching paper made by the renowned paper company Hahnamuhle (est 1584) which is of archival museum quality and the inks are special archival pigment inks all of which goes to the ensure enduring quality of my prints. Each edition is usually strictly limited to 100 thus making them highly collectable.
